The Dandridge Merchant & Professional Association Welcomes You
Come Visit Dandridge, Tennessee—The only town in the United States named for the First “First Lady,” Martha Dandridge Custis Washington, and one of the oldest towns in the state.

Dandridge is proud of its history, working to improve its present, and planning for its future.

An historic community located on Douglas Lake, Dandridge is located in the heart of major tourist attractions such as the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Pigeon Forge, including Dollywood, and Sevierville. It is easily accessible from I-40 (two miles off Exit 417) which is the first exit south of the I-81 and I-40 junction. It is within 25 minutes of Knoxville and the University of Tennessee campus.

The historic district contains many buildings dating to the early 1800s, including both homes and businesses. Our historic walking tour includes four historic taverns now converted to other uses, as well as a Revolutionary War cemetery. The Jefferson County Courthouse contains a museum that displays both historic and prehistoric displays of our heritage. The Dandridge Visitor Center located next to town hall can assist you in your exploration of Dandridge and we invite you to share our history, and beautiful lake and mountain scenery.
